progress from Making A Lather

My Friday quilt group met, and, I had a chance to work on sea swept. I made 7 more blocks.

And, there are still more easy breezy blocks. Completed blocks are taking over the box, which means I am making progress.

recycle shirts from Making A Lather

These blocks are addictive. While I was planning my new sea swept quilt, I made sample blocks in shirt fabric. Good thing I did, I made mistakes. But, now, I want to keep making snails trails in shirt fabrics too. I will need to cut more. If you can start one quilt why not start two.

Working with recycled shirts is such a pleasure. The fabric is soft and does what I ask it to do. There is a lot of fabric in a shirt. I have these five shirts are for sale on etsy.

we have a truckload of compost for the garden. We have not bought in bulk before. That is what watching you tube gardening videos will do to you.

Our Friday group met, and I started sea swept for the month of May until I get it to a flimsy. I didn't have it all cut, yet. I wanted to be able to try it, and, make sure I could do it. My first try on a sample block was off and I didn't even know it. I am so glad that blogger friends helped ...

to do: find my mojo from Making A Lather

I am not sure where my mojo went, but, I think I know that I suffered from 'finish it 'obsession. And, I have plenty to obsess about finishing in quilting. But, if that is all I do, obsess, check lists, and worry about how much I am not doing, then, the fun is gone.

Sometimes, I just get tired of the mess. And I want to scoop it all into a large trash bag.

This time of year, I love the outdoors, but, I spend too much time "finish it" sewing. I need to remember to take time to enjoy ...
